REFUND & RETURNS POLICY
At Haute Couture Cosmetics (HCC), we are committed to providing a premium shopping experience. We want every purchase to meet your expectations in quality, performance, and craftsmanship. This policy outlines how returns, inspections, credits, and warranties are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Act 68 of 2008 of the Republic of South Africa.
1. Seven-Day Cooling-Off Period (CPA Section 20)
Because online shoppers do not have the opportunity to inspect products before delivery, HCC allows a seven-day cooling-off period from the date the parcel is delivered.
HCC acknowledges that fragrances may be opened for the purpose of inspection. Light testing is acceptable during this period.
A return may be considered under the cooling-off period when:
The customer notifies HCC in writing within seven days of delivery.
The fragrance is opened only for inspection and minimally tested.
Once the fragrance is received and inspected by HCC, the return may qualify for a full refund. Optional add-ons such as gift wrapping or special delivery services are excluded from refunds.
If signs of usage exceed reasonable testing, a partial refund may be considered, depending on the condition of the item.
2. Six-Month Warranty on Defects (CPA Section 56)
If a fragrance has a manufacturing defect within six months of delivery, the customer may submit the item for assessment.
Because fragrances cannot be repaired, HCC may offer the following outcomes after inspection:
A refund, full or partial, depending on the condition and level of use
Credit approval depends on verification and inspection. Batch numbers and packaging must match HCC inventory and records.
A refund or credit cannot be approved if:
Batch numbers do not correspond with products supplied by HCC.
Damage was caused by improper storage or handling after delivery.
Consumer Protection Act (CPA) Summary
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act:
Customers are entitled to inspect products after purchase.
Retailers may decline a return if the product was misused or contaminated.
Refunds and credits may be adjusted based on the condition of the returned item.
Items Not Eligible for Return
Returns cannot be approved where:
The fragrance has been significantly used beyond reasonable testing.
The product shows signs of misuse, exposure to heat, or improper storage.
Authorization for return was not obtained prior to shipment back to HCC.
All returns are subject to fragrance inspection, packaging inspection, batch verification, and condition assessment.
Return Procedure
To initiate a return or inspection request, send an email to support@hccosmetics.co.za with your order number and reason for return.
Once assessed and authorized, HCC will provide return instructions via courier or PUDO locker. Unauthorized returns will not be processed.
Refunds and credits are processed within 30 days after inspection.
